With the weather getting hotter and the demand for healthy food becoming more prevalent, the number of vegan snacks that are vegan-friendly has grown exponentially.
Some are quite obvious, like vegan bread, and some are more subtle, like chickpeas.
One of the best ways to make a vegan snack without breaking the bank is to make vegan bread and then eat it with some vegan cheese.
It’s like eating a healthy salad and then eating some vegan bread.
Here’s how to make the best vegan bread at home.
Vegan-friendly vegan bread 1.5 cups of wholemeal flour 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup white sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 teaspoons salt 1/8 teaspoon black pepper 4 cups (about 10 loaves) unsalted organic breadcrumbs (or 1 tablespoon coconut oil) 1/3 cup vegan cheese (such as Daiya, GF or GF-free) 2 tablespoons honey (or agave) 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 1/10 teaspoon blackstrap molasses 1 tablespoon honey (plus more if you want) 1 1/16 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (or pure vanilla powder if you’re feeling fancy) To prepare the bread, melt the wholemeal, water and sugar in a saucepan over low heat.
Add the flour and stir constantly to make sure everything comes together.
Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the dough is doubled in size.
It should look like a very soft dough.
Once the dough has doubled in volume, add the honey and lemon juice and stir well.
Allow the dough to rise for at least an hour.
Add more water if needed, but be sure the dough isn’t sticking to the sides.
Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each piece into a tight ball.
Transfer to a greased baking tray and bake at 375° for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.
Turn the oven down to 400° and bake for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool.
Alternatively, you can wrap each loaf in plastic wrap and freeze until needed.
Vegan cheese vegan cheese is a vegan alternative to regular milk.
It has a low glycemic index and has less calories than other dairy products, so it’s an easy way to add healthy vegan foods to your diet.
It tastes like the creamy, slightly sweet and slightly sour cream of a dairy product, so is great for snacking, making a smoothie or a dipping sauce.
It can also be made into a cheese curd, which is a cheese-based dessert, and can be used to make other dairy-free dairy alternatives.
Vegan yoghurt vegan yoghurts have a low GI (good for you) ratio, and they are good for reducing the impact of refined sugars.
They are also great for reducing food waste and can help you to eat more plant-based food.

You can use chickpeacakes to make your own vegan breads, too, or make vegan cheese out of chickpease and use it as a dipping for your favourite vegan cheese recipes.

Add some soy oil and mix well.
